Feature Film Competition
A selection of fiction features chosen from works produced in the last two years compete for the Trieste Prize. All are Italian premieres.
Documentary Competition
A competition for the Alpe Adria Cinema Award dedicated to documentaries of international and Italian production. All Italian premieres
Short Films Competition
A selection of the best short films from the geographical area investigated by the festival, with special attention to Film Schools, compete for the Best Short Film Award offered by the Osiride Brovedani Foundation.

Major national and international premieres with the presence of the directors.

Premiere screenings from Central and Eastern Europe.
Off the beaten... screens
A showcase dedicated to new perspectives and new cinematic forms, from works that are “freer” in their durations and narrative structures, to hybridizations of genres and languages: different and original points of view on cinema and the world.
Corso Salani Award
The initiative aims to give an opportunity for exposure and promotion of independent Italian feature films, both fiction and documentaries, that have not yet been distributed in Italian theaters and seek Italian and/or international distribution. The best film in this section will be awarded the Corso Salani Prize.
Wild roses
Established in 2021, a showcase dedicated to female directors from Central and Eastern Europe, which selects a group of talented filmmakers from a different country each year. In 2024, the focus is on female directors from Serbia.
Tsff for the Little ones
A true “festival within a festival” dedicated to families and children: screenings of art-house short and feature films and creative workshops.
INCinema
Inclusive Film Festival. The first Italian Film Festival with screenings accessible to the sensory impaired. By Sub-ti access e Sub-ti subtitles.
Queer Visions
“Queer Visions” was born with the intention of opening a window on the contribution made by Central and Eastern European cinema on the rights, struggles, and claims of the LGBTQ+ community.
The Second Shift: Companions at Work
Una retrospettiva di tredici film rari provenienti da tutto il blocco orientale che ritraggono le donne al lavoro sotto il comunismo, dall’emancipazione rivoluzionaria della lavoratrice nel dopoguerra fino all’alienazione del doppio carico di lavoro.
